ACB International Digital Circuit 2020

Kolkata, the cultural hub of India, has recently hosted an international level photography competition ACB International Digital Circuit 2020. The photography circuit is organized by The Artsy Lens (Kolkata) in association with Camera Club Kolkata (Salt Lake, Kolkata) & Badya Para Camera Club (Jadavpur, Kolkata). This circuit is approved by PSA (2020 – 401) and has PSA approved four sections namely PID Monochrome (PIDM), PID Color (PIDC), Nature (ND), and Photo Travel (PTD). This international circuit is conducted completely in digital format using Pixel Clash, a Photography Salon Software. The entry of the circuit closes on 5 October 2020 followed by the judgment on 20 October 2020. Notification is sent via web and email on 2 November 2020. The exhibition will take place from 18th to 20th December 2020 (4 – 7 PM) at Hotel Ayesha, Kestopur, Kolkata. Catalogues and awards of this circuit will be despatched on 25 December 2020. The award list of this circuit includes 12 PSA Gold Medals, 12 ACB Gold Medals, 12 ACB Silver Medals, 12 ACB Bronze Medals, 24 ACB Merit Wards, and 24 ACB Chairman Choice Awards. Otherwise, there are two special awards: 1 Overall Best Entrant, and 1 Best Indian Entrant.

The entries of this circuit are judged by renowned judges in the field of photography. The judging panel of The Artsy Lens club (for all sections) feature SUBRATA BYSACK – GMPSA/p, EFIAP/g, FFIP, GAIUP, GPU CR5, GPU VIP 5, SEPSS, BASU DEB AICH – EFIAP, and DR. DEBDAS BHUNIA – EFIAP. Camera Club Kolkata has SUDIP ROY CHOWDHURY – EFIAP, FFIP, AIIPC, Hon.FICS, Hon.FIVAF, Hon. FBAF, Hon.SSS, Hon.FSAP Hon.PESGSPC, GPA PESGSPC, ANIKET PAUL – EFIAP, and CHINMOY DUTTA – EFIAP/b, EPSA, EIUP, AICS, FFIP, Hon.PESGSPC as judges in all sections of their panel. For all sections of the panel of Badya Para Camera Club, the judgment is done by PIYALI MITRA – EFIAP/b, EPSA, EFIP, PARTHA SARATHI SARKAR – EFIAP, and PINKU DEY – EFIAP/b, HonFICS, AFIP, HonPESGSPC, ESoF Hon.FTPAS.

I have used this software while judging Saints in Need salon in July 2020. Its one of the most user friendly software, I have used in Indian salons. This software has flexbility of thumbnails with marks, provision of ranking, changing marks is smooth and with memory stored, a very well thought of algorithm, which surely helps a judge to do full justice and gives enough freedom. As the Saints in Need is a charitable salon , Sri Raju Sutradhar provided entire software support free of cost. My heart felt thanks to him and his team for this benevolent work. It is my first judging experience with Pixel Clash software and off course the experience is awesome. It is fast and enriched with features which are mostly required by a jury member. Uploading, payment updates and judging are completely hassel free. No problem reported so far. After completing the marking juror can see the thumbnails with given marks which is a much required feature in my opinion. Mr. Sutradhar is very courteous and always ready to extend the support regarding software. I highly recommend Pixel Clash software for salon/circuit management.( Disclaimer: I am in no way related to Pixel Clash or with Mr. Raju Sutradhar neither I have any interest with it. )

The software used for Online judging in Saints in Need 2020 by Pixel Clash was an excellent one. It was so smooth and fast, without any problem. The second round was even more enjoyable with a particular facility called 'Review marks with thumbnail' through which it was possible to review the images in the order of scores given by me, and also providing a scope of modification at that stage. The overall judging experience using this software was highly enjoyable.
