1st Virtuoso International Digital Salon 2021

South Asian Photography Society of Kolkata has come up with 1st Virtuoso International Digital Salon 2021, their 1st ever photography contest cum exhibition in February 2021. This international digital salon is organised as the club’s initiative to engage global thoughts of photography during the COVID and post-COVID situation. This international level photography salon is recognised by both the Photographic Society of America (PSA 2021 – 1086), and the Federation of Indian Photography (2020/FIP/284/2021). Pixel Clash, a photography Salon Software, manages and hosts this salon worldwide digitally.

The submission of entries closes for this salon on 7th February 2021. Judging of all the sections is conducted from 21st February 2021 to 24 February 2021. Notification of acceptances is sent by 9th march 2021. EDAs report will be prepared and sent to the PSA by 25th March 2021. Awards will be mailed to the participants by 7th May 2021. Online gallery and catalogue will be posted by 7th May 2021. Exhibition of events will take place at AVISHA from 7th May 2021 to 9th May 2021.

1st Virtuoso International Digital Salon 2021 is conducted completely in digital format. The salon is based on PSA approved four sections namely PID Monochrome (PIDM), PID Color (PIDC), Nature (ND), and Photo travel (PTD). Judging of all the sections is done online by PIYALI MITRA – EFIAP/b, EPSA, EFIP PIDC,PIDM,ND,PTD, ANIKET PAUL – EFIAP PIDC,PIDM,ND,PTD, and BASU DEV AICH – EFIAP PIDC,PIDM,ND,PTD.

The award list of 1st Virtuoso International Digital Salon 2021 is featured by 4 FIP GOLD, 4 VIRTUOSO GOLD, 4 VIRTUOSO SILVER, 4 VIRTUOSO BRONZE, 20 FIP RIBBON, 4 VIRTUOSO MERIT AWARD, and 4 CHAIRMAN CHOICE awards. Apart from this, there is 1 Overall Best Entrant Award, 1 Best Indian Entrant, and 1 Best Club Award.

Result

ARNALDO PAULO CHE has received the Overall Best Entrant Award in 1st Virtuoso International Digital Salon 2021. The total number of acceptances received by him is 12, that include 2 PSA Gold awards, 1 Virtuoso Gold award, and 1 FIP Ribbon award. The Best Indian Entrant Award in this event is conferred to SATHYANARAYANA C.R., who receives 12 acceptances including 2 FIP Ribbon awards, and 1 Virtuoso Bronze award. Best Club Award has been awarded to YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY.

The acceptance list of all the sections is featured by spectacular photographs of different genres shared by photographers from all continents. 1st Virtuoso International Digital Salon 2021 receive entries from countries like Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, USA, and Vietnam.

As the Saints in Need is a charitable salon , Sri Raju Sutradhar provided entire software support free of cost. My heart felt thanks to him and his team for this benevolent work. It is my first judging experience with Pixel Clash software and off course the experience is awesome. It is fast and enriched with features which are mostly required by a jury member. Uploading, payment updates and judging are completely hassel free. No problem reported so far. After completing the marking juror can see the thumbnails with given marks which is a much required feature in my opinion. Mr. Sutradhar is very courteous and always ready to extend the support regarding software. I highly recommend Pixel Clash software for salon/circuit management.( Disclaimer: I am in no way related to Pixel Clash or with Mr. Raju Sutradhar neither I have any interest with it. )

The software used for Online judging in Saints in Need 2020 by Pixel Clash was an excellent one. It was so smooth and fast, without any problem. The second round was even more enjoyable with a particular facility called 'Review marks with thumbnail' through which it was possible to review the images in the order of scores given by me, and also providing a scope of modification at that stage. The overall judging experience using this software was highly enjoyable.
