Memories Circuit 2021

Memories Circuit 2021 is organised by FOCUS to explore the emerging trends of photography. This international-level photography contest cum exhibition connects photographers of different genres across the globe. Memories Circuit 2021 is recognised by the Photographic Society of America (PSA 2021 – 1119). Pixel Clash, a Photography Salon Software, manages and hosts this circuit digitally.

Memories Circuit 2021 is based on 5 sections and 3 judgings. PSA approved 5 sections of each judging are Open Monochrome, (PIDM), Open Colour (PIDC), Photo Travel (PTD), Nature (ND), and People (PIDC). Submission of entries (against payment of Rs 2500 for Indians and USD 35 for foreign entrants) is closed on 14 February 2021. Judgings of all the sections and salons are completed by 28 February 2021. Notification of awards and acceptances is done by 14 March 2021. EDAS report will be sent to PSA by 30 March 2021. Awards will be mailed and the online gallery will be posted on 16 May 2021. Catalogue will be finalised and uploaded by 16 May 2021.

Jury Panel

The 1st judging of Memories Circuit 2021 is conducted by Subrata Bysack GMPSA/P, EFIAP/G, Tapas Kumar Paul MPSA, EFIA, and Kalyan Bhattacharya EFIAP, FFIP. The judges featuring the 2nd judging are Suman Bhattacharyya MPSA, ARPS, EFIAP/B, Subhadip Choudhury AFIAP, and Arup Bhattacharjee MPSA, EFIAP/S. The 3rd judging is conducted by Sanjoy Sengupta GMPSA, EFIAP, Swapan Mukherjee – EFIAP, FFIP, and Subhas Dutta – AFIAP, EFIP.

DANIEL LYBAERT from the Netherlands wins MEMORIES Gold in the same section for the photo DE CONFRONTATIE-IN ZWW. In the Open Colour section, DANIEL LYBAERT from the Netherlands wins PSA Gold for LANDSCHAP EN FIETSER, and CHUN CHENG KUO from Taiwan receives MEMORIES Gold for GOT THE LUNCH 02. In the Nature section, JIE FISCHER from USA wins PSA Gold for the photo _D5JUMPING1024 and VALERIE KLEINDIENST from Australia wins MEMORIES Gold for the photo KING PENGUINS MATING.

In the Photo Travel section, PSA Gold award is won by NGOCAN TO from USA for the photo GREEN TERRACED FIELDS. BRAY DAVID from England receives MEMORIES Gold for the photo HAMNOY CLICHE in the same section. In the People section, ARNALDO PAULO CHE from Hong Kong receives PSA Gold for BRICKFIELD 1, and RUPA DAS MAJUMDAR from India wins MEMORIES Gold for JOURNEY.

Judging 2

In the Open Monochrome section, SEBASTIAN KUCZYNSKI from Poland wins PSA Gold for the photo COVID-19 TIME PORTRAIT. NORBERT BRENNICH from Germany wins MEMORIES Gold in the same section for the photo DOOR. In the Open Colour section, PETER BALANTIC from Slovenia wins PSA Gold for the photo THROUGH THE BROCCOLI FOREST. KA YI WINNIE TSE from Hong Kong wins MEMORIES Gold for the photo LOST HOME in this section. In the Nature section, SAU HUNG LI from Hong Kong wins PSA Gold for the photo SKY DANCE, and JIE FISCHER from USA receives MEMORIES Gold for the photo MIGRATIPON GNUS12 L10240.

In the Photo Travel section, PETER BALANTIC from Slovenia wins PSA Gold for AUTUMN MORNING, and RUPA DAS MAJUMDAR from India wins MEMORIES Gold for PUSHKAR MORNING. I have used this software while judging Saints in Need salon in July 2020. Its one of the most user friendly software, I have used in Indian salons. This software has flexbility of thumbnails with marks, provision of ranking, changing marks is smooth and with memory stored, a very well thought of algorithm, which surely helps a judge to do full justice and gives enough freedom. As the Saints in Need is a charitable salon , Sri Raju Sutradhar provided entire software support free of cost. My heart felt thanks to him and his team for this benevolent work. It is my first judging experience with Pixel Clash software and off course the experience is awesome. It is fast and enriched with features which are mostly required by a jury member. Uploading, payment updates and judging are completely hassel free. No problem reported so far. After completing the marking juror can see the thumbnails with given marks which is a much required feature in my opinion. Mr. Sutradhar is very courteous and always ready to extend the support regarding software. I highly recommend Pixel Clash software for salon/circuit management.( Disclaimer: I am in no way related to Pixel Clash or with Mr. Raju Sutradhar neither I have any interest with it. )

The software used for Online judging in Saints in Need 2020 by Pixel Clash was an excellent one. It was so smooth and fast, without any problem. The second round was even more enjoyable with a particular facility called 'Review marks with thumbnail' through which it was possible to review the images in the order of scores given by me, and also providing a scope of modification at that stage. The overall judging experience using this software was highly enjoyable.
