Classic Shoot 2021

Photography is an emerging passion among Indians nowadays. Classic Shoot 2021 is a national level salon organised by Baidyabati Photo Club, Kolkata, India to support, promote, and recognise this passion. The salon is approved by the Federation of Indian Photography (recognition no: 2021/FIP/002/2021) and powered by Pixel Clash, a Photography Salon Software. Classic shoot 2021 is based on five sections that follow the strict guidelines of FIP. The five sections are Open Monochrome, Open Colour, Festival [ Mono+Color], Nature, and Photo Travel.

The closing date of the submission of entries in Classic Shoot 2021 is on 7 February 2021. The judging is done between 13-15 February 2021. The notification of awards and acceptances is released over mail and web on 21 February 2021. The exhibition is scheduled from 21 to 23 March 2021. Catalogue and awards will be despatched on 21 March 2021. SDAS will be prepared and sent to FIP on 15 March 2021.

Jury Panel

The jury panel of Classic Shoot 2021 includes talented photographers of India in their judging panel. The same jury panel conducts judging for all the sections. The panel includes Mr. Sathyanarayana C R [ Vice President of FIP, EFIAP, ARPS, FICS, HON.MFIP(N), Hon. FPSG,C.MOL], Mr. Shyamal Kr. Roy [EFIAP, FFIP, ESFIP, FICS, GPA.PESGSPC, MSAP, GMSAP ], Mr. Korlapati Saraswati Rao [ EFIAP, FFIP, AIIPC ], and Mr. Balachandder S K [AFIAP, EFIP, AHPS, Hon. CPE, GPA.PESGSPC, Hon. PESGSPC].

Awards

There are total 85+1 awards in Classic Shoot 2021. The award list of each section includes 1 FIP GOLD, 3 CLUB GOLD, 1 CLUB SILVER, 1 CLUB BRONZE, 5 FIP RIBBON, and 5 DIGITAL CM. Otherwise, there is Rs.3,000/- Cash Award for Best Set of Acceptance in Each Section. Best Club Trophy is considered for the club having 15+ entrants.

Result

ASOK SENGUPTA has been awarded as the Best Author in both the Open Monochrome and the Open Colour sections. SUDHIR GAIKWAD has bagged the Best Author award in the Nature section. In the Photo Travel section, PANCHANATHAN MANICKAM has become the recipient of the Best Author award. SUBRAHMANYESWARA RAO KONDADASU has received the Best Author award in the Festival section. The Best Club award has been conferred to PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY OF MADRAS. The recipients of notable awards in different sections are the following:

Open Monochrome

The acceptance rate in the OPEN MONOCHROME (PIDM)(DIGITAL) section is 24.83%. ASOK SENGUPTA from India receives the FIP GOLD award in this section for the image BALANCING GAME. The recipients of three Club Gold awards are SHEILA VERGHIS for the image TUSKER TUSSLE, KALYAN BHATTACHARYYA for the image FIGURE 3 and ABHISHEK BASAK for the image TWIN SADHU.

Open Colour

The acceptance rate in the OPEN COLOUR (PIDC)(DIGITAL) section is 24.35%. ASOK SENGUPTA receives FIP GOLD for the image DID YOU LIKE IT. Three Club Gold awards recipients in this section are PANCHANATHAN MANICKAM for the image NEW YORK SKYLINE, SUDHIR GAIKWAD for the image OVERCOMING DEFORMITY, and SUBRAHMANYESWARA RAO KONDADASU for the image FRIENDS 1.

Festival

The acceptance rate in the FESTIVAL [ MONO+COLOR](DIGITAL) section is 24.77%. MAHESH AMBARE receives FIP GOLD for the image DAHI HANDI. MADAGONI VENKATESH receives Club Gold for the image 3 BATHUKAMMA FESTIVAL TELANGANA. The other two recipients of the Club Gold awards in this section are KATHROJU YADAGIRI for the image TREDITION OF BATHUKAMMA, and SUBRAHMANYESWARA RAO KONDADASU for the image ARAKU HOT AIR BALLOON FEST 4.

Nature

The acceptance rate in NATURE (ND)(DIGITAL) section is 24.63%. SUDHIR GAIKWAD receives the FIP GOLD award for the image CARRYING THE PRIZED POSSESION. Club Gold awards are won by RAJU PONAGANTI for the image PROTECTOR, ASHOK KUMAR.T for the image FEED CARRYING INSECT, and RAMANIDHARAN RAMASWAMY for the image WE ARE THIRSTY.

Photo Travel

The acceptance rate in the PHOTO TRAVEL (PTD)(DIGITAL) section is 25%. FIP GOLD recipient in this section is PANCHANATHAN MANICKAM for the image CONQUERING ALL. Three Club Gold awards in this section are won by KRISHNAN KV’s photo FLYOVER DUBAI, ASHIS KUMAR DAS’s photo THE DEVOTION 1, and RATAN HARI LAKSHMI’s photo DEVPRAYAG.

I have used this software while judging Saints in Need salon in July 2020. Its one of the most user friendly software, I have used in Indian salons. As the Saints in Need is a charitable salon , Sri Raju Sutradhar provided entire software support free of cost. My heart felt thanks to him and his team for this benevolent work. It is my first judging experience with Pixel Clash software and off course the experience is awesome. It is fast and enriched with features which are mostly required by a jury member. Uploading, payment updates and judging are completely hassel free. No problem reported so far. After completing the marking juror can see the thumbnails with given marks which is a much required feature in my opinion. Mr. Sutradhar is very courteous and always ready to extend the support regarding software. I highly recommend Pixel Clash software for salon/circuit management.( Disclaimer: I am in no way related to Pixel Clash or with Mr. Raju Sutradhar neither I have any interest with it. )

The software used for Online judging in Saints in Need 2020 by Pixel Clash was an excellent one. It was so smooth and fast, without any problem. The second round was even more enjoyable with a particular facility called 'Review marks with thumbnail' through which it was possible to review the images in the order of scores given by me, and also providing a scope of modification at that stage. The overall judging experience using this software was highly enjoyable.
