PONDICHERRY 1ST NATIONAL SALON 2020
Diyasha Photo Circle club organised Pondicherry 1st National Salon 2020 (2020/FIP/127/2020) in August 2020. Diyasha is a photography club in Pondicherry, an Indian city which is known for its diverse and rich cultural heritage. When the world is going through the COVID 19 pandemic, Diyasha has endeavoured to connect enthusiastic photographers of India virtually to support their passion and promote their arts in their salon. This first-ever online photography salon was affiliated by Federation of Indian Photography and powered by Pixel Clash photography salon software. The salon comprised four sections Open Monochrome, Open Colour, Photo Travel, & Street (theme). The entry was closed on 4 August 2020 followed by the judging on 8th and 9th August 2020. The exhibition of selected photographs of this competition is likely to take place on 12th and 13th September 2020. The catalogue and award distribution is likely to take place on 22 September 2020. The entry fee was Rs.499/- for All Sections with an option of discounted fee Rs.350/- for bulk entry of more than ten members. The condition of the entry was that the maximum of the image should be 1080 px, width 1920 px and a resolution of 300 dpi. The maximum image size was supposed to be 2 MB. A maximum 35 characters were allowed for the caption of the image. There are in 103 awards among which there are 4 FIP Gold Medal, 4 Club Gold Medal, 8 Club Silver Medal, 12 Club Bronze Medal, 20 FIP Ribbon, 12 JURY Choice Medal,16 Chairman Choice Medal, 24 Merit Medal, and 3 Best Club Memento. The judgment was done by Manabendra Dey, EFIAP, EFIP; Sadiqur Rahman, AFIAP, AFIP; and Saikat Roy, EFIAP, EFIP.
Three special awards of Pondicherry First International Salon 2020, as declared by the organisers, are YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY (1st position), PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB OF ASSAM (2nd Position), and AVTVISO & PLAAPA (3rd position). According to the statistics uploaded in the website of Diyasha, a total number of 1160 images were received in the OPEN MONOCHROME (Digital) section, the rate of acceptance is 24.05 %. Mr. Bhabesh Doley from India received the FIP Gold Medal in this section. The title of his image is ” THE OTHER ROUTE TO THE WORLD”. In the OPEN COLOR (Digital) section, there were 1199 entries and the acceptance rate was 24.27%. Mr. Sandeep Yadav from India received the FIP Gold Medal in this section for his entry titled as “HUMAN FOUNTAIN”. In the PHOTO TRAVEL (Digital) section, there were 1143 entries, the rate of acceptance was 24.32%. Mr. Krishnan KV from India received the FIP Gold Medal in this section for his image titled as “FLYOVER DUBAI”. In the THEME STREET section, there were 1058 entries and there had been 23.53% acceptance rate. Mr. Kalyan Mukhopadhya from India received the FIP Gold Medal in this section for his image titled as “HAZARD AT TEA TIME”. Manabendra Dey, EFIAP, EFIP, Sadiqur Rahman, AFIAP, AFIP, and Saikat Roy, EFIAP, EFIP featured the jury panel of this salon.The complete list of acceptance and the present status of each and every entry have been furnished below.
