JCM Salon 2022

JCM Photographic Society, an Indian photography club of repute, organises JCM Salon 2022 during the fall of the Spring of this year. The salon is organised in a completely digital format for the global exposure of contemporary trends in photography. JCM Photographic Society is a dedicated club for the promotion of the art of photography. The club is a proud member of several bodies such as PSA, FIP, IIPC & WPAI. The club organises different photography-related events like international circuits and salons, webinars on photography, photography tours and photo walks, photography related workshops and conferences etc. JCM Salon 2022 is one such endeavour of JCM Photographic Society that justifies the motto of the club “Photography Unfiltered, Inspiration Unlimited”. The salon is recognised by FIAP (2022/077) and FIP (2021/FIP/208/2022) and powered by Pixel Clash, a Photography Salon Software.

JCM salon 2022 is based on four FIAP & FIP approved sections that are Open Monochrome (PIDM), Open Colour (PIDC), Nature including Wildlife (ND) & Photo Travel (PTD). The submission of entries for the salon was closed on 21 March 2022. The judging of all the sections was done on 27 March 2022. The notification was sent via mail and uploaded to the website on 9 April 2022. Awards will be mailed to the recipients on 31 March 2022. Noted photography expert Chitrangad Kumar acts as the chairman of this salon. The judging panel of this salon includes maestros of photography such as Sanjoy Bhattacharya (India) A LRPS, EFIAP, GPU CROWN, FFIP, A.CPE, Hon. EFA, Tuhinkanti Das (India) MPSA, MWPAI, EFIAP, FFIP, FSOF, AICS, AISF, and Ratnajit Choudhury- India- MPSA, EFIAP, FFIP, GAPU, GPU Aphrodite, WPAI Silver.

JCM Salon 2022 receives more than 300 entries from so many countries across the continents such as India, Turkey, Bahrain, Italy, Hong Kong, Germany, Netherlands, South Africa, Croatia, Sri Lanka, USA, England, Belgium, Hungary, South Korea, France, Romania, Spain, Iran, Bangladesh, Singapore, Indonesia, Scotland, Cyprus, Vietnam, Ireland, etc.

Awards & Acceptances in JCM Salon 2022

The award list of each section of JCM Salon 2022 includes 1 FIAP Gold, 1 FIP Gold, 1 WPAI Gold, 1 JCM Gold, 1 JCM Silver, 1 JCM Bronze, 10 E- Certificate of Merit, 5 E – HM, 2 FIAP Ribbon, and 2 FIP Ribbon. There are 3 special awards apart from the regular medals and awards: 1 Best of Entrants, 1 Best of Indian Entrants, and 1 Best of Clubs. The acceptance rate in all four sections of JCM Salon 2022 is near 25%.

The FIAP Gold Medals winning photographs in all four sections are – Open Monochrome: SLOWLY TO THE EXIT by Max Van Son (Netherlands), Open Colour: CROSSING by Suman Banerjee (India), Nature: FIRST MOMENTS OF BONDING by Sandie Cox (England), Photo Travel: CASTLE IN THE MOUNTAINS by Suniel Marathe (India).

The FIP Gold winning photographs in different sections are – Open Monochrome: SHEATHED by Suniel Marathe (India), Open Colour: TO A DUTCH OFFICE by Willem Halbach (Netherlands), Nature: FIGHT OF GLADIATORS by Dipanjan Nath (India), and Photo Travel: KECAK DANCE AT SUNSET ULUWATU by Abiprayadi Riyanto (Indonesia).

the WPAI Gold award-winning photographs in different sections of JCM Salon 2022 are – Open Monochrome: THE SHOUT by Seamus Byrne (Republic of Ireland), Open Colour: LINES REDS AND A MAN by Hamid Mohammad Hossein Zadeh Hashemi (Iran), Nature: MOTHER AND CUB by Sanjoy Kumar Shukla (India), and Photo Travel: PONTE LONGO by Franz Hammer (Austria).

The JCM Gold winning photographs in different sections are – Open Monochrome: STILL LIFE 1678 by Basudeb Chakraborty (India), Open Colour: CHINESE OPERA by Dewi Tandjung (Indonesia), Nature: BROAD NOSED WEEVIL MATING by Pratap Mondal (India), and Photo Travel: TONES by Sandipan Chaudhuri (Australia).

I have used this software while judging Saints in Need salon in July 2020. Its one of the most user friendly software, I have used in Indian salons. As the Saints in Need is a charitable salon , Sri Raju Sutradhar provided entire software support free of cost. My heart felt thanks to him and his team for this benevolent work. It is my first judging experience with Pixel Clash software and off course the experience is awesome. It is fast and enriched with features which are mostly required by a jury member. Uploading, payment updates and judging are completely hassel free. No problem reported so far. After completing the marking juror can see the thumbnails with given marks which is a much required feature in my opinion. Mr. Sutradhar is very courteous and always ready to extend the support regarding software. I highly recommend Pixel Clash software for salon/circuit management.( Disclaimer: I am in no way related to Pixel Clash or with Mr. Raju Sutradhar neither I have any interest with it. )

The software used for Online judging in Saints in Need 2020 by Pixel Clash was an excellent one. It was so smooth and fast, without any problem. The second round was even more enjoyable with a particular facility called 'Review marks with thumbnail' through which it was possible to review the images in the order of scores given by me, and also providing a scope of modification at that stage. The overall judging experience using this software was highly enjoyable.
