UttarPurv 2021 National Salon of Photography
UttarPurv 2021 is a national salon of photography organised by Uttar Purv Photography Club. Uttar Purv Photography Club is an exclusive club that aims at exploring and celebrating the flora and fauna along with cultural diversities of the North-Eastern states of India through the engagement of budding and professional photographers. UttarPurv 2021 is a salon of 4 sections which are Open Colour, Open Monochrome, Travel, and Nature. The salon is recognised by the Federation of Indian Photography (2020/FIP/319/2021) and powered by Pixel Clash, a photography contest software.
UttarPurv 2021 National Salon of Photography closes the submission of entries on 6 April 2021. Judging of all the sections is done on 10 April 2021 and 11 April 2021. The notification is sent over the web and mail on 18 April 2021. EDAS will be prepared and sent to FIP on 30 April 2021. The exhibition of the accepted photographs is likely to take place from 12 June 2021 to 13 June 2021. Awards and catalogue will be sent from 18 May 2021. All the sections of UttarPurv 2021 are judged by prolific personalities of photography such as Saurav Kumar Boruah, EFIP, AFIAP, Sadiqur Rahman, AFIP, AFIAP, and Mayurjyoti Das, AFIP.
UttarPurv 2021 receives a huge response from photographers of different genres across India. The photography event has its special focus on people, culture, ethnic customs, ethnic practices, beliefs, the cuisine of the people of the North East of India. North East being naturally so rich, is aesthetically presented by the photographers in this event. Apart from representing North East in their lenses, the promising photographers of India have brought their contemporary photographs featuring people, places, architectures, wildlife, nature, culture, ethnic practices from the different corners of the earth. In all four sections, 76 exclusive medals and ribbons have been presented to the photographers of different regions of India.
Result of UttarPurv 2021
In the Open Monochrome section, Mousumi Naskar Bhattacharya’s photo EVOLUTION has received the prestigious FIP Gold Medal. Bhaskar Halder has received the UttarPurv Gold medal in the same section for his image HAPPY SMILE. Sudip Banerjee’s photo SMILE has secured the UttarPurv Silver Medal award and Bhabesh Doley’s THE OTHER ROUTE TO THE WORLD has received UttarPurv Bronze Medal in this section.
In the Open Colour section, Anirban Banerjee’s brilliant photograph THE BEGINING OF LIFE has bagged the FIP Gold Medal. Arindam Chatterjee’s photo LITTLE WRESTLER has won UttarPurv Gold Medal. Abhishek Basak has received UttarPurv Silver Medal for his photograph WORK IN LINE. Harshajit Das’s vibrant photograph HOLI FESTIVAL OF COLOURS has secured UttarPurv Bronze Medal in this section.
In the Nature section, Ajit Huilgol’s photo ELEPHANTS MATING has received the prestigious FIP Gold Medal. Darshan Ganapathy’s stunning photograph MATING OF BLACKBUCK wins UttarPurv Gold Medal. Barun Sinha wins UttarPurv Silver Medal for the photo CHEETAH BROTHERS ON HUNT. Jiten Phukan’s photograph ATTACK IS THE BEST DEFENCE has received the UttarPurv Bronze Medal in this section.
In the Photo Travel section, KV Krishnan’s brilliant photograph FLYOVER DUBAI wins the FIP Gold Medal. Abhishek Basak’s photograph SALT PAN WORKERS has received the UttarPurv Gold Medal. Prashant Kharote’s contemporary capture THE COVID 19 CRISIS HAS HIT has been chosen for the UttarPurv Silver Medal. Shivraj Talwar’s PALKHI FESTIVAL wins UttarPurv Bronze Medal in this section.
UttarPurv 2021 has emerged to be a successful photography event during the time of the global pandemic. This national-level photography event has connected brilliant minds of photography across the nation virtually so that they can exhibit their artistic thought and practices at the comfort of home. Ms Mandira Bhuyan, the Chairman of UttarPurv 2021 National Salon of Photography, expresses her gratitude to all participants, judges, and well-wishers for making this event a grand success.
