Golden Glow National Salon 2021

Golden Glow National Salon 2021 is a photography event and contest organized by the Kolkata-based photography club Clickerz Community. This national-level photography contest is based on five sections which are Open Color (PIDC), Open Monochrome (PIDM), Nature (ND), Photo Travel (PT), and Street Photography (Color & Monochrome). The event has been recognized by the Federation of Indian Photography (2021/FIP/027/2021). Pixel Clash, a Photography Salon Software, has promoted and managed this event digitally.

Cllickerz Community, a photography club in Kolkata, is run by some enthusiastic and dedicated photographers. The club encourages amateur and professional photographers all across the nation to promote photographic art. The club arranges photo-walk, Adda (conversation), indoor and outdoor photoshoot, etc for encouraging the budding talents of photography. Golden Glow National Salon 2021 is an initiative of the club to connect the brilliant minds of photography across India in a digital photo-contest platform during the 2nd wave of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Golden Glow National Salon 2021 closes the submission of entries on 30 May 2021. Judging of all the sections is done from 7 June 2021 to 9 June 2021. The result is notified through the website and email on 12 June 2021. The exhibition of all the accepted photographs will take place on 17 October 2021. EDAS will be submitted to the FIP on 24 June 2021. E-catalogue and awards will be posted from 10 August 2021. Renowned photography experts featuring the judging panel are Mr. Sujit Sarkar – EFIAP, FFIP, DIP(PAD), Mrs. Snigdha Kar – EFIAP, EFIP GOLD NATURE, EFIP, BEAPF, Mr. Abir Das – EFIP, EFIAP, and Mr. Priyankar Dattagupta – EFIP, EFIAP.

Golden Glow National Salon 2021 offers a total 102 number of awards in all five sections. Each section’s award list includes 1 FIP Gold Medal, 1 Club Gold Medal, 1 Club Silver Medal. 1 Club Bronze Medal, 5 FIP Ribbon, 1 Chairman Choice Medal, 1 Special Jury Award, and 5 Club CM Awards. Otherwise, there is 1 Certificate (PDF) thematic award in each section. There is 1 award for the Best Entrant and 3 Trophies for the 3 Best Clubs in the event.

Result

In the Open Monochrome section, Kuma Kranti Prasad’s photograph THE PATTERN wins the FIP Gold medal. The Club Gold medal in this section is received by Atanu Mondal for the photograph BUBBLES. Aniruddha Das’s photograph SAYANTIKA wins the Best Portrait award in the Open Monochrome section. In the Open Colour section, the FIP Gold medal winning photograph is Samir Sarkar’s FOOT BRIDGE ON THE RIVER IGUAZU. This section’s Club Gold medal is received by Barun Sinha for the photograph DREAMS AND BEYOND. Deep Bhatia’s photograph AGAINST ODDS-2 has been chosen for the Best Creative photograph award in the Open Colour section.

In the Nature section, Ajit Huilgol’s photograph CHEETAH TUG OF WAR wins the FIP Gold medal. This section’s Club Gold medal is bagged by Barun Sinha for the photograph BEARDED SEAL 1. Sathyanarayana C. R.’s photograph CHEETAH HUNT has been chosen for the Best Action photograph award in the Nature section. In the Photo Travel section, Kaushik Banerjee’s photograph SNOW COVERED PATH receives the FIP Gold award. Ambar Nath Saha’s photograph EVENING AT SHORE wins the Club Gold award in this section.

In the Street Photography (Colour and Monochrome) section, Sandip Pramanick’s photograph DUCKS AND HUMANS wins the FIP Gold medal. Club Gold award in this section is received by Raja Banerjee for the photograph BARBAR SHOP. Sujata Sen’s photograph THE DISPARITIES OF LIFE wins the Best Candid award in the Street Photography section.

Mr. BARUN SINHA wins the Overall Best Entrant Medal in Gloden Glow National Salon 2021. 1st Best Club Trophy goes to YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY and the 2nd Best Club Trophy is received by PLAAPA. 3rd Best Club Trophy winning club is LENS & LIFE OF DUM DUM.

I have used this software while judging Saints in Need salon in July 2020. Its one of the most user friendly software, I have used in Indian salons. As the Saints in Need is a charitable salon , Sri Raju Sutradhar provided entire software support free of cost. My heart felt thanks to him and his team for this benevolent work. It is my first judging experience with Pixel Clash software and off course the experience is awesome. It is fast and enriched with features which are mostly required by a jury member. Uploading, payment updates and judging are completely hassel free. No problem reported so far. After completing the marking juror can see the thumbnails with given marks which is a much required feature in my opinion. Mr. Sutradhar is very courteous and always ready to extend the support regarding software. I highly recommend Pixel Clash software for salon/circuit management.( Disclaimer: I am in no way related to Pixel Clash or with Mr. Raju Sutradhar neither I have any interest with it. )

The software used for Online judging in Saints in Need 2020 by Pixel Clash was an excellent one. It was so smooth and fast, without any problem. The second round was even more enjoyable with a particular facility called 'Review marks with thumbnail' through which it was possible to review the images in the order of scores given by me, and also providing a scope of modification at that stage. The overall judging experience using this software was highly enjoyable.
